Antioch is a small community located in southeastern Davidson County, Middle-Tennessee, approximately 11.5 miles from the city of Nashville. Antioch is governed by the Nashville metropolitan government and there are approximately 174,000 people living in the area.
Antioch was named after the Antioch First Baptist Church, established in 1810 and the National Association of Free Will Baptists has its headquarters in Antioch.
The area experienced enormous growth in the 1970’s due to the expansion of the sewer system and the availability of large amounts of farmland, which made more residential construction.
Antioch continues to experience some of the highest growth rates in Nashville-Davidson County.
The most important business concentration in Antioch is Hickory Hollow Mall offering shoppers 140 stores and 5,795 parking spaces.
The mall opened its doors in 1978 and has been renovated and expanded several times over the years. Many new strip malls have also opened in the area.
